CEO, If

Torbjörn Magnusson was born i 1963. He has worked in If since 1999. He lives in Stockholm with his wife and two children.

Before joining If, Torbjörn held held various positions at Skandia and the Mercantile&General, mainly as chief actuary and chief controller. Torbjörn holds an M.Sc degree and a Licentiate of Engineering, both from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He did his military service at the School of Interpreters in military Russian and English.

About If’s environmental work
At If, we recognize that we affect the environment both directly through our own consumption of energy and other resources but also from claims and our claims handling. In addition, we also have an impact indirectly through our suppliers within claims handling, IT, office support and so on.

Our strategy is to reduce the environmental impact through continuous improvement. Consideration of the environment and its effects must be a daily and integral part of our daily and operational activities. We strive at all times to minimize the effects of waste from our operations and to the greatest extent possible reuse and recycle.

We also work hard to ensure that our claims handling is done with the minimum of damaging environmental effects. Through our community-oriented activities we promote environmental initiatives. Also, by providing guidance and support, we always give our employees the opportunity to act in an environmentally sound manner.
