Steffen Kretz is a senior International editor and anchor with the Danish Broadcasting Corporation TV News and Current Affairs. He hosts DR-TVs legendary foreign affairs programme Horisont (Horizon).

As of September 2008 his is on a one-year special assignment as DRs Climate Correspondent covering the global climate changes in the months leading up to the International summit in Copenhagen.

Over the past 20 years Steffen Kretz has reported from wars and conflicts in Africa and the Middle East, he has been based in New York as a US correspondent and most recently in Amman as bureau chief of DR-TVs Middle East bureau. From 1996 to 2004 he was the anchor of DR-TVs main newscast at 9 pm.

Steffen Kretz has interviewed numerous world leaders. In the International series of interviews "They Made History" he talked to Libyan leader Moammar Gadaffi, former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Pakistani premier Benazir Bhutto, South African archbishop Desmond Tutu and former South African president Frederick De Klerck, President Viktor Yuschenko of Ukraine, former President Corazon Aquino of the Philippines, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega and President Shimon Peres of Israel about their part in major historic events. The series has been aired by TV stations across the world.
